We support many customers with diverse computing environments and we required Asigra's vast support for operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Unix, VMWare, XEN, Hyper-V, IBM iSeries, and Novell as well as key application-aware support. For instance, Asigra can make "hot" backups of Microsoft SQL, MySQL and Oracle databases while they are running, and Asigra also supports message level backups and restores of Exchange, GroupWise, and Lotus Notes.
Continuous Data Protection (CDP)
Enterprise backup features such as support for Continuous Data Protection (CDP) for backing up mission critical data. Customers that require hourly database backups or continous backups of email systems will appreciate the power of CDP.
Shortest backup window possible
Many of our customers have issues with ever expanding backup windows due to routine FULL backups and explosive data growth. Asigra has several functions that minimize backup windows to the shortest amount of time possible. First, Asigra supports "incremental forever" technology so that after the first full backup, only changed files are backed up in the future. In combination, Asigra uses block-level change detection so only the part of the file that changed is backed up. Combined with compression, de-duplication, block-level change detection, and incremental forever technologies, you can dramatically reduce the time to perform backups. We have seen backups that normally take 24-hours with traditional backups shrink to 2 hours using Asigra.
